Die Gemeinschaft am Evangelium!

Es ist überraschend, Freunde, wenn man im Philipperbrief im Kapitel 1 im Vers 5 von einer Gemeinschaft am Evangelium liest, weil man sich fragen könnte, was denn da Paulus eigentlich meint. Fragt man die Kirchen nämlich heute, was das Evangelium ist, dann erklären Sie einem:

Jesus ist für Dich am Kreuz gestorben zur Vergebung der Sünden.

Philiper 1,5 für eure Gemeinschaft am Evangelium vom ersten Tage an bis heute; 6 und ich bin darin guter Zuversicht, dass der in euch angefangen hat das gute Werk, der wird’s auch vollenden bis an den Tag Christi Jesu.

Etwas, das durchaus stimmen mag. Nur: Das Evangelium ist es nicht.

Mit dem gestrigen Tag hat gestern wieder der Advent begonnen. Und im Advent, da ist es immer eine gute Zeit, um über das tatsächliche Evangelium nachzudenken.

In der Erwartung des Kommens des Messias Jesus Christus zu leben, den uns dann am Weihnachtsabend der Erzengel Gabriel, von dem man sich allerdings des Dienstgrades uneinig ist, verkündet:

Lukas 2, 10 Und der Engel sprach zu ihnen: Fürchtet euch nicht! Siehe, ich verkündige euch große Freude, die allem Volk widerfahren wird; 11 denn euch ist heute der Heiland geboren, welcher ist Christus, der Herr, in der Stadt Davids. 12 Und das habt zum Zeichen: Ihr werdet finden das Kind in Windeln gewickelt und in einer Krippe liegen.

Das tatsächliche Evangelium das:

Mt 6,33 Trachtet zuerst nach dem Reich Gottes und nach seiner Gerechtigkeit, so wird euch das alles zufallen.

The community of the gospel!

It is surprising, friends, when you read about a community around the gospel in verse 5 of Chapter 1 of Philippians, because you might ask yourself what Paul actually means. If you ask the churches today what the gospel is, they will tell you:

Jesus died on the cross for you for the forgiveness of your sins.

Philipians 1:5 for your fellowship in the gospel from the first day to this day; 6 And I am confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will complete it until the day of Christ Jesus.

Something that may well be true. But it's not the gospel.

Advent began again yesterday. And Advent is always a good time to reflect on the actual gospel.

To live in expectation of the coming of the Messiah Jesus Christ, which the archangel Gabriel, although there is disagreement about his rank, announces to us on Christmas Eve:

Luke 2:10 And the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. Behold, I bring you good news of great joy that will come to all the people; 11 For to you is born this day a Savior, who is Christ the Lord, in the city of David. 12 And this is a sign: You will find the child wrapped in swaddling clothes and lying in a manger.

The actual gospel that:

Matthew 6:33 Seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be yours.
