Frohe Weihnachten!

Heute sind in Russland, der Ukraine und Serbien Weihnachten, liebe Freunde und es sich die zweiten Weihnachten, seitdem sich die Russen in den Krieg im Donbas eingemischt haben, die vierten Weihnachten, seitdem dieser Krieg ausbrach und die 10 Weihnachten, seitdem die Russen und die Ukrainer, früher einmal Brüder zum Streiten gekommen sind.

Zum Streiten gekommen sind, weil eine andere Großmacht, die USA meint, der ganzen Welt Frieden und Wohlstand bringen zu können, indem sie weltweit Sicherheitspolizei spielt. Während dem sie sich selbst früher einmal als „God´s own country“ bezeichnete. In Wahrheit aber tot und schrecken hinterlassen.

Heute ist in Russland und der Ukraine Weihnachten, so das wir den Russen und Ukrainern, sollten wir die Möglichkeit dazu haben noch einmal die Weihnachtsgeschichte erzählen wollen:

Lukas 2,1 Es begab sich aber zu der Zeit, dass ein Gebot von dem Kaiser Augustus ausging, dass alle Welt geschätzt würde. 2 Und diese Schätzung[1] war die allererste und geschah zur Zeit, da Quirinius Statthalter in Syrien war. 3 Und jedermann ging, dass er sich schätzen ließe, ein jeglicher in seine Stadt. 4 Da machte sich auf auch Josef aus Galiläa, aus der Stadt Nazareth, in das judäische Land zur Stadt Davids, die da heißt Bethlehem, darum dass er von dem Hause und Geschlechte Davids war, 5 auf dass er sich schätzen ließe mit Maria, seinem vertrauten Weibe[2]; die war schwanger. 6 Und als sie daselbst waren, kam die Zeit, dass sie gebären sollte. 7 Und sie gebar ihren ersten Sohn und wickelte ihn in Windeln und legte ihn in eine Krippe; denn sie hatten sonst keinen Raum in der Herberge. 8 Und es waren Hirten in derselben Gegend auf dem Felde bei den Hürden, die hüteten des Nachts ihre Herde. 9 Und des Herrn Engel trat zu ihnen, und die Klarheit des Herrn leuchtete um sie; und sie fürchteten sich sehr. 10 Und der Engel sprach zu ihnen: Fürchtet euch nicht! Siehe, ich verkündige euch große Freude, die allem Volk widerfahren wird; 11 denn euch ist heute der Heiland geboren, welcher ist Christus, der Herr, in der Stadt Davids. 12 Und das habt zum Zeichen: Ihr werdet finden das Kind in Windeln gewickelt und in einer Krippe liegen. 13 Und alsbald war da bei dem Engel die Menge der himmlischen Heerscharen, die lobten Gott und sprachen: 14 Ehre sei Gott in der Höhe und Friede auf Erden bei den Menschen seines Wohlgefallens[3]. 15 Und da die Engel von ihnen gen Himmel fuhren, sprachen die Hirten untereinander: Lasst uns nun gehen gen Bethlehem und die Geschichte sehen, die da geschehen ist, die uns der Herr kundgetan hat. 16 Und sie kamen eilend und fanden beide, Maria und Josef, dazu das Kind in der Krippe liegen. 17 Da sie es aber gesehen hatten, breiteten sie das Wort aus, welches zu ihnen von diesem Kinde gesagt war. 18 Und alle, vor die es kam, wunderten sich über die Rede, die ihnen die Hirten gesagt hatten. 19 Maria aber behielt alle diese Worte und bewegte sie in ihrem Herzen. 20 Und die Hirten kehrten wieder um, priesen und lobten Gott für alles, was sie gehört und gesehen hatten, wie denn zu ihnen gesagt war.

Today is Christmas in Russia, Ukraine and Serbia, dear friends and it is the second Christmas since the Russians got involved in the war in Donbas, the fourth Christmas since this war broke out and the 10 Christmases since the Russians and the Ukrainians, once brothers came to fight.

Today is Christmas in Russia and Ukraine, so we want to tell the Russians and Ukrainians the Christmas story again if we have the opportunity:

Luke 2:1 Now it came to pass at that time that a commandment went out from Caesar Augustus, that all the world should be esteemed. 2 And this estimate[1] was the very first, and was made at the time when Quirinius was governor of Syria. 3 And every man went to be counted, every man to his own city. 4 Then Joseph also set out from Galilee, from the city of Nazareth, into the land of Judah, to the city of David, which is called Bethlehem, because he was of the house and family of David, 5 that he might be counted with his own Mary trusted woman[2]; she was pregnant. 6 And when they were there, the time came for her to give birth. 7 And she bore her first son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because they had no other room in the inn. 8 And there were shepherds in the same region in the field by the folds, keeping watch over their flock by night. 9 And the angel of the Lord stood near them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them; and they were very afraid. 10 And the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid!” Behold, I bring you good news of great joy that will come to all the people; 11 For to you is born this day a Savior, who is Christ the Lord, in the city of David. 12 And this is a sign: You will find the child wrapped in swaddling clothes and lying in a manger. 13 And immediately there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, saying, 14 Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, goodwill toward men.[3] 15 And when the angels went up from them into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, Let us now go to Bethlehem and see the things that have happened, which the Lord has made known to us. 16 And they came with haste, and found both Mary and Joseph the child lying in the manger. 17 When they had seen it, they spread the word that was spoken to them about this child. 18 And all those to whom it came were astonished at what the shepherds had spoken to them. 19 But Mary kept all these words and moved them in her heart. 20 And the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all that they had heard and seen, as it was said to them.
